Action Planning: using Force-field Analysis to identify the enablers and barriers to implementing change

Date: Wednesday 13th February 2013, 6pm-7pm

Venue: TFPL Offices, 10 Furnival Street, London EC4A 1AB

Content

When attempting to implement a solution to a problem, many of us are faced with a myriad of responses from our colleagues and stakeholders. Some of these responses (forces) will be helpful (driving forces) and some will be unhelpful (restraining forces). To achieve the desired change it is important that all these forces, both supportive and otherwise, are identified and their relative impact evaluated. Listing all the driving and restraining forces – using Force-field Analysis – is an excellent discipline because:

  • It helps to determine whether a proposed solution is practical or not
  • It provides colleagues and stakeholders with an inventory of the factors which are likely to facilitate and/or impede implementation.

Sounds interesting? Want to know more? Then why not join us on the evening of Wednesday 13th February 2013 and learn how to use Force-field Analysis in your organisation. The training evening will be led and facilitated by Ian Wooler and will include an overview of Force-field Analysis and a worked-through example which attendees will help complete on the night.
