ebic conference, 1-3 October 2008, Berlin
Connecting with the future
Social impact awards
Knowledge and information management (KIM) tools and techniques can make a real difference to charities and not-for-profit
organisations - both in delivering innovative ways to meet their social objectives and by improving efficiency and
effectiveness in their management and operations.
As information technology becomes more affordable, these organisations can more easily take advantage of new KIM approaches.
But vital learning opportunities offered by events like ebic conference 2008 are generally out of the reach of their limited
budgets.
The ebic conference 2008 organisers are planning to help bridge this gap by offering five free delegate places to ebic Fellows -
the finalists of an innovation competition held in the run up to ebic. Entrants will need to propose a novel or imaginative
use of KIM tools, processes, technologies or approaches to a social objective, and we will encourage entries that relate
to the ebic conference 2008 theme, Connecting with the future.
After assessment by a judging panel, the five top proposals will be invited to ebic conference 2008 without charge as ebic
Fellows. During the conference, there will be a 'social impact evening' during which the finalists will present their
entries to the conference delegates. One of them will be announced as the overall winner and will receive a prize.
