The world of work continues to evolve driven by the increasing capability of information and communication technology, demographics that present challenges to established ideas about workforce profiles, and social developments that impact on the ambitions, expectations and attitudes of the people that organisations rely on for corporate success.

TFPL Connect continues its consideration of the future of work by discussing technological development and the potential implications of new technology for the future of knowledge and information management in organisations.
Jo Causon from the Chartered Management Institute will lead the discussions by presenting some results from the Institute's own research into the future of work. The Chartered Management Institute has 79,000 individual and 300 corporate members. Part of its role is to influence policy makers and opinion formers on key management issues.
One key theme identified by the Institute in its research is the changing nature of business models and structures – including an increase in the number of 'purely virtual' organisations. Such organisations have an increased requirement for technology that can capture and analyse implicit and tacit knowledge and for increased levels of information security. Meanwhile 'individuality' in technology is key enabling integration of work with personal knowledge.
Following this, we will hear from two people responsible for knowledge and information in a large corporate (BDO Stoy Hayward) and a public sector organisation (Transport for London). They will present their own views on the impact of technological trends on knowledge and information management.
Finally, Paul Ormerod will facilitate the delegates and speakers through a knowledge café process to consider key learnings from the day.
Don’t forget to join us afterwards for early evening networking, wine and canapés in the RSA vaults.
