introduction:
This one day course takes a holistic view of designing, creating, writing and promoting web pages. It covers the use of social media tools including blogs and wikis, the use of search engine optimisation, twitter, slideshare and bookmarking to create a blended approach to promoting your content and services online. This is undertaken using practical sessions, discussion and demonstration. There will also be a web surgery during the course where you will be able to discuss specific examples and gain advice and feedback. At the end of the day participants will be able to write basic web pages, and will understand the key issues relating to design and promotion.

This course is designed for people who have a responsibility for writing and/or designing web pages and who have no prior experience, but it also provides a useful overview for managers of such people. Participants will get most from the day if they have spent some time using the Internet and are familiar with a Windows environment.
