Library & information management courses
Library and information management - the skills to work in and manage library and information services.
Personal effectiveness in the delivery and management of Library and Information Services (LIS) is essential for good personal and business performance. For LIS managers in all sectors the key to successful service management is business alignment - working with the senior stakeholders in your organisation to increase the opportunities and the value of library and information skills to the organisation. This includes designing the right services, viewing the LIS as a business, selecting the right marketing and branding techniques to convey impact, and facilitation and negotiation techniques for working with stakeholders, customers, information providers and staff.
Information and library professionals must also increase their reputation for delivering change. A sound understanding of how to manage projects that deliver on time and address issues of change management is another essential tool in the armoury.
TFPL's 2009 training programme has been designed to deliver the skills and knowledge for excellent performance.
