On this page we have answered your frequently asked questions relating to TFPL training courses. However, if you have a training course question which is not answered on this page, please contact training@tfpl.com.
How can I keep up to date with new
courses?
We send out regular mailings about training courses. If you would
like to be added to the mailing list, please contact training@tfpl.com.
You can also register to receive
our regular training course emails.
Can I make a provisional training course
booking?
Yes. Provisional training course bookings can be made by telephone
+44 (0)20 7332 6000 or email training@tfpl.com.It
is a good idea to make a provisional training course booking if you
need to wait for formal approval before making a confirmed course
booking. A provisional course booking makes no commitment on your
part, but it lets us know that you are interested.
How do I make a definite training course
booking?
You can book a training course place on our website - there is a quick
course booking facility on the training courses page, which is the
quickest way to book if you know the training course title and date.
Otherwise, find the training course through the course
search page and select the date at the top of the training course
programme page. Alternatively, please contact training@tfpl.com.
Do you offer training course discounts
to charities?
Yes, registered charities get 10% discount on all our training course
prices.
How close to the training course date
can I book a place?
We advise you to book your training course place, at least provisionally,
as soon as you decide to attend. However, we do take course bookings
right up to the day before the training course takes place. By leaving
a course booking to the last minute you risk finding that the training
course is full or that we have cancelled the course due to lack of
numbers.
Why are training courses confirmed
so late?
We have to wait until sufficient confirmed course bookings have been
received before we can confirm that a training course will definitely
go ahead. With some training courses, this can happen a couple of
months before the course is due to run, but with others it might just
be 10 days before.
Why do you sometimes cancel training
courses?
Occasionally we have to cancel a training course due to low delegate
numbers or because the course trainer is no longer available. Where
possible, we will try to reschedule the training course for later
in the year.
Can I book my flight or train ticket
as soon as I have booked my training course place?
No. Please wait until you have received the course joining instructions
from us, as confirmation that the training course is definitely going
ahead. We realise that this can be frustrating for overseas delegates,
but TFPL will not be liable for any costs incurred by delegates if
a course is cancelled.
I'm not sure whether this training
course is appropriate for me
All training courses have been assigned a level (1-3) where level
1 is foundation, level 2 is intermediate and level 3 is advanced/strategic
management. Each course description contains a section on who should
attend. If you are still unsure, please contact our training team

and we can help you decide. If appropriate, we can ask the course
trainer to call you to discuss the course.
How can I pay for a training course
booking?
We will send you an invoice for the training course fee, when we confirm
the course booking. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card at the
time of booking the training course.
What happens if I'm sick on the day
of the training course and can't attend?
If, on the day, you can't attend a course for whatever reason, you
will still be charged the training course fee. We are happy for someone
else from your organisation to come in your place but we can't refund
the training course fee or defer the place to the next course date
as this would affect the profitability of the training course.
What happens if I want to cancel a
training course booking?
When you make a confirmed training course booking, you accept our
bookings and cancellation policy.
You can cancel a training course booking within the cancellation period,
but after that you will be charged for the course. We are happy to
change delegate names at any point.
How many delegates do you have on your
training courses?
Most of our training courses have a maximum number of 12-16 delegates.
Occasionally the number is lower, such as the Write and design www
pages course, where the course trainer needs to spend time individually
with delegates. Some seminars will have higher delegate numbers than
the standard training courses.
Will I have my own PC on the training
course?
Yes, if the training course involves computer work, each delegate
will have access to their own PC.
Do you do on-site training programmes?
Yes, most of our training programmes can be delivered in-house for
clients. You can either have the training course exactly as it appears
in our public training programme, or we can customise the course to
fit your organisation's precise requirements. If we do not have a
suitable training course, we can often create one for you. For more
