About the Company

Working in this standalone role to manage the finance function for three small businesses with a larger group of companies ensuring that accurate production of management accounts within the timescales set; meeting all audit and legal standards.  Compilation of the monthly management reporting for the Senior Management Team at both local and group level.

Duties & Responsibility:

To carry out the following:

  • Preparation of a weekly forecast ‘dashboard’ by the pm of the first working day of the following week
  • Reconciling the bank account on a daily basis and preparing weekly rolling cashflow forecasts
  • Preparing the monthly management accounts and relevant KPI data for the Senior Management Pack
  • Reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Inputting and processing all sales & purchase invoices with appropriate authorisations
  • Ensuring supplier payments with appropriate authorisations are made in a timely manner
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and all supporting documentation and timely submission to HMRC
  • Managing and processing monthly payroll
  • Overseeing the credit control function
  • Reconciling Intercompany balances on a monthly basis
  • Preparing the annual audit file for the external auditors in line with the audit requirements as defined by group finance
  • Supporting the Directors in strategic planning, preparation of budgets and recommending financial procedures to support long-term growth of the businesses
  • Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications

The candidate will have the following qualifications/attributes:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified/part-qualified accountant (Full AAT and/or Part ACCA with AAT)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Sage and ideally recruitment temp payroll software (TempAid)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexible approach, particularly around month end reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in an appropriate manner
  • Customer focussed both internally and externally

Other Requirements

At month end times, there may be a requirement to work longer hours to accommodate the month end process within the timescales set.
