A leading law firm has a newly created job opportunity for someone to start and develop their career in legal information industry. This is a permanent position based within a central Information team, within their central London offices.
You will develop the skills to contribute across the team’s services, including:
- providing current awareness
- undertaking research using a wide range of online and hard copy resources
- delivering training on research skills
- raising awareness of the service
- helping to keep the library catalogue up-to-date
- working on various projects to further development the service
The ideal candidate for this position is likely to be a Library and Information graduate who has completed or nearly completed their qualification. Any experience of working in a commercial environment would also be useful, as would understanding of research and secondary subscription information/research databases.
Of paramount importance however is that you are bright and quick to learn, enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
You should have excellent communication skills and attention to detail. You should enjoy working with a proactive approach, able to work effectively with colleagues across the business at all levels
Having completed your (Library and) Information studies degree, you should be keen to develop your Information career and eager to make the most of this great entry level development opportunity.
