Information Services Assistant

A leading law firm has a new job opportunity for an Information Services Assistant, based in their London office. 

The role will provide administrative assistance to the Information Services team in relation to the day-to-day maintenance, promotion and procurement of our legal and business information resources. This will include helping fee earners access, find and use the resources and distributing the resources. The role will also help managing payments to suppliers and other procurement administration.

The role will undertake document supply enquiries, assisting with basic legal and business requests..

  • Providing current awareness service to the business
  • Helping with basic legal and business research request
  • Assisting in delivering training and conducting library tours to new starters. 
  • Managing the new starters and leavers process and password management
  • Assisting in project work as required
  • Looseleaf updating for local offices and coordinating external looseleaf updates when necessary; day to day management and monitoring for new releases of corporate rulebooks
  • Book lending, book processing and circulating hard copy materials
  • Having a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Helping to manage and maintain library and hard copy collections including shelving, processing books and journals for binding, regular audits of collections, photocopying and general maintenance of local library and satellite libraries
  • Processing payments to suppliers and following up
  • Being a confident communicator and a good team player

The role will provide an enquiries, legal research and document supply service. Research elements include basic legal research and monitoring future legal developments to help our business stand out, grow profitably and win and retain clients.

The role will help manage and promote the legal and business information resources for the business through current awareness and the intranet.

- experience in a Knowledge/Library or Information services role, gained within a professional services environment.
