My client is a leading UK full service market research agency. Due tot the companies we require a Data Analyst to bolster the Data Services team within the agency. This role would likely suit a candidate educated to graduate level with some experience of working with data in some capacity – although they are more than happy to work with the right candidate to develop your skills. Previous successful applicants have studied IT, business, mathematics / statistics, or technology-orientated degrees, although not having those qualifications should not be seen as a barrier to application.

Successful candidates can expect a salary which rises with experience, as well as the opportunity to progress through a rapidly growing company. Please note, this is not a ‘Data Entry’ type role.

Reporting to the Operations Manager the candidate will be given the opportunity to develop skills in data collection and analysis - including via online and mobile platforms – as well as developing detailed knowledge of a wide range of specialist data analysis programmes. The candidate will work with members of staff throughout the company, having regular dealings with researchers and analysts at all levels – including senior directors.

The candidate will also be responsible for the operational delivery of projects and will liaise with other operations departments and research teams to make sure a project runs smoothly and on time.

The Candidate
The individual will be confident and focused and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to manage their time and duties in a professional and effective way, with minimal supervision. They must have a flexible attitude, work well under pressure, with the ability to work within both a team environment and using their own initiative to meet tight deadlines. They must be able to demonstrate sound capabilities of interacting with persons at all levels and backgrounds.
Main competencies required of the job holder:

Skills and Experience
•    Good communication skills
•    A quick learner
•    Flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken and hours worked
•    General knowledge of office software platforms
•    Working knowledge of databases and the relevant skills (VBA, SQL, SPSS etc.)
•    Some experience of some of the following: HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery (or similar), R.

Some Desirable Skills & Experience:

•    Production of tabular outputs using tabulation software.
•    The export of data to analysis packages, such as Excel, SPSS, R.
•    Writing and checking analysis specifications.
•    Verification of outputs by holecounts, listings, reports and other means.
•    Good logical thinking and problem solving skills
•    Application of statistical tests and weighting.
•    Provision of accurate survey sample.
•    Secondary support and guidance for researchers on analysis issues.
