About the company

A London based, higher education client has a requirement for a Temporary Librarian to cover the period of Mid July to October, reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Affairs

What you'll be doing

As an experienced and capable Library professional, you will manage a welcoming and well catalogued library for London Students and Faculty, working with over 500 students and 50 faculty between the Mid July and October period.

Key responsibilities

- Library responsibilities - collection management, cataloguing, maintaining stock
- Manage and maintain the Library management system (Alma) and OPAC (Primo)
- Copyright - maintain up-to-date knowledge of copyright licences & regulations and prepare & upload resources to CLA DCS platform
- Educational Technology - manage student enrolment on Blackboard Learn courses, support for faculty, secretary to Educational Technology Sub-Committee
- Line management for part-time Library staff covering evening & weekend openings, Writing Fellows, student programme assistants
- Manage student and faculty communications & updates regarding Library services and resources

Our client is looking for an experienced and capable Library professional with a good grounding in educational technology and digital curation. You will be a competent, flexible and confident individual, who is able to quickly pick up on processes and work with minimal day to day supervision.

- Team player who is also a confident line manager who can oversee the work of part-time Library support staff and Writing Fellows.
- Supportive, professional, calm and helpful in customer service dealing with all service users from faculty to students.
