We are recruiting a Library Manager for a global education provider who are renowned for delivering world-class professional qualifications. The group delivers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and professional qualifications across the UK, internationally and through innovative online learning platforms. This Library Manager role is based in their Holborn site.
You will have responsibility for the provision of Library and Information Services to students studying at the Holborn learning centre at Holborn and oversight including line management responsibilities for library staff at another centre.
Key responsibilities will include:
- providing managerial guidance and support to the library team in the day-to-day management of the library & information services the learning centres at Holborn and Bristol, including maintaining the collections, managing the study space and providing other library academic liaison services
- recruiting, supervising, appraising and training staff, including line management of Information Services Assistants
- designing and delivering inductions, face-to-face and online training programmes (small group sessions and lectures)
- working with the Acquisitions Librarian and Systems Librarian to coordinate and develop resources, including collection development and management, online information services, the online library and other initiatives
This is a hands-on team management role, so previous experience of managing an information or library team would be beneficial, although we will consider candidates who are looking to step up in to a first people management role.
More importantly, you will be an experienced user of legal information resources and confident in training and supporting professional law students and staff in legal research.
You will be a strong communicator and a creative thinker with a friendly and professional approach.
This role would potentially suit an experienced Legal Researcher/Information Officer who is looking to move out of a corporate legal environment.
