Sue Hill are delighted to be looking for an experienced Market Researcher to oversee and develop processes and systems for delivering market research in the University.  You will provide key market insights and recommendations on areas including new course development and student recruitment strategies based on market intelligence, research and data analysis.  You will be an expert in the field, maintaining up-to-date sector knowledge, gathering intelligence on competitors and proactively exploring new market opportunities.Experience of market research in a higher education environment is essential.  You will also need to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of appropriate market intelligence sources, and sector trends. We are looking for candidates with experience in the analysis of competitor intelligence and the ability to provide valuable market insights and recommendations to inform strategic and operational planning and decision-making.Excellent numeric, analytical and organisational skills are a pre-requisite, as well as the ability to work in an environment where tight deadlines and changing or multiple priorities are the norm.
Be the institutional first point of contact for all market research requests, effectively identifying level of skill required, and resource limitations.Effectively prioritise and manage a varied workload and respond to a wide range of requests for qualitative and quantitative information and research across the University. Analyse and track the performance of the University and its competitors using a range of data, metrics and other relevant information. This will include recruitment performance, employability data, student satisfaction, degree classification, SSR, market positioning, etc. to create benchmarking and performance analysisSupport for Marketing and the Senate PDC in the provision of market intelligence to support new portfolio development and strategic decisions about the existing portfolio. Source, analyse, synthesis and distil a wide range of internal and external information including HESA, UCAS, NSS, DHLE, QAA, British Council, Google Trends, SLC and HN data.Develop detailed annual budget forecasts for the purposes of buying data, providing evaluation and ROI reports for Head of Marketing, Brand and Communications.Oversee the tender process where outside agencies are commissioned for the purposes of conducting market research for the University and oversee delivery. Be responsible for ensuring that technical requirements relating to market research and analysis are met: work with IT colleagues to ensure IT systems and software are fit for purpose.Work closely with colleagues from Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, MIS, ITS and the Project Office to inform work to develop improved access to market data across the institution and ensure systems are fit for purpose.
