About the company

A 3 month Fixed Term Contract job opportunity is currently available to provide paper records or document management administrative services, to be based in Edinburgh.

What you'll be doing

You will join an existing team who are conducting a Records Management project including records review and appraisal duties and working on a records destruction project.

The job focus for 3 months will be a re-boxing and cataloging project. You will identify and extract appropriate records and documents due for destruction.

You will maintain the results in archival spreadsheets using Excel. You will liaise with the offsite records storage provider directly.

In time this may develop to include a greater element of retrospective cataloguing of files to ensure correct retention rules are applied; and more analysis of datasets and inventories.

Why you’ll be hired

It would be ideal if you hold a Records Management or Information Management or Preservation qualification and wish to gain some practical hands on experience.

Alternatively you should have some experience in Records, Document or Information Management or a relevant Administrative role, and enjoy working in an operational, process driven environment.

You should have strong administrative skills and must be IT literate including good Excel skills and experienced in working with databases.

You should be able to work independently and in a methodical manner.

It is essential that you should be well organized, with strong attention to detail.

You must be completely reliable and happy to work into a commercial environment.
