What you'll be doing

The Systems Librarian is a key position with responsibility for the continued technical development and implementation of the Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) systems and the ongoing management of digital library resources. This role will provide oversight, co-ordination and day-to-day management of KLS systems and electronic resources including, but not limited to, the LMS (KnowAll), EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), Link Resolver, Ejournals (PHE and Local Authority access), Ebooks, and Databases: OVID Embase, Medline, Social Policy and Practice, Elsevier Scopus, Sage Research Methods, EBSCO Global Health, and SocIndex.
As Systems Librarian you will project manage and develop the functionality and interface of the KLS online interface (LMS plus EDS), and the systems which underpin it, to ensure it meet's strategic objectives, by being responsible for the review, modification or replacement of the current system[s], creating code to modify and link systems together and designing web pages to meet user needs.
This role will oversee and project manage all technical and systems aspects of the KLS systems, including content development, in liaison and partnership with library users, KLS, Digital and IT teams, and other staff, including: resource management and metadata standards; policies and procedures; internal content-provider training and documentation; end-user guidance and support.

You will bring professional experience of working as a Systems Librarian or professional with evidence of broad, in-depth technology and systems knowledge, skills, and experience in one or more areas of library systems - library automation/integrated library systems, library technology, search and discovery, Web services, etc
You will have experience of implementing and managing Library and Information Management Systems, ideally in large/complex organisations, and a direct experience of integration with related search and discovery products.
