A global law firm is currently seeking to recruit an Information Officer to join a highly professional and well-regarded Library and Information Service within their beautiful Newcastle upon Tyne offices.  The team provide the business with access to Knowledge and Information services, systems and resources.
 
What you’ll be doing
 
You will provide a varied range of services and expertise to a particular area of the organisation including delivering and promoting training on different knowledge management and information resources (such as working on the library induction training programme); providing current awareness news duties across the global organisation; providing a research and enquiry service using a range of legal and business information databases and providing some business research such as client, market, industry and sector information.
 
Who you are
 
The successful applicant will possess a Library or relevant Information Management/Information Studies degree or post-graduate qualification in addition to relevant work experience gained in a Professional Services environment.  If you have already worked in a Library and Information Service in a law firm that would be ideal.  You should possess a good understanding of Information and Knowledge Management principles and practices including the knowledge of business and legal databases.  You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills liaising with people firm wide.
